推薦信
推薦信在西方國家是求職，求學的必備材料。
寫推薦信的人必須對被推薦者有一定的了解。最好有較深的資歷。如被推薦者的原單位領導，本專業的專家等，名聲越大越好。
推薦信大體上可分為兩種：專業推薦信（特意為被推薦人申請某一單位的某一職務而寫的。寫信人應了解聘方的要求、工作性質等有關情況以便有的方矢地推薦被薦人）。通常推薦信（即一封信可以用於不同的聘人單位，通常以「To Whom it May Concern」）為稱呼。
推薦信要多寫優點，充分肯定成績，篇幅不宜過長，也不能三方兩語。一般包括以下三個內容：
1．說明推薦人與被薦人的關系，熟識程度等。
2．概述被薦人的品質、能力、性格等。]
3．建議招聘人錄用。
推薦信上應提供推薦人的工作單位、地址、電話等以便對方聯系，簽名後必須注意職稱或學銜。
除了請別人推薦，也可以自薦，其格式與上述要求相同。
1. 推薦研究人員（專用） Recommendation of researcher
Dear Sir,
I take pleasure in recommending to you [Mrs Chen Ping], [instructor of physics in Tianjin Chinese Medical College].
[Mrs Chen Ping] graated from [the physics Department of Beijing Teachers』 University in 1982]. From [1983] to [1985] [she] had been a research student [in Physics Department] of the above-mentioned University under my direction, majoring in [molecular spectra] study. B. 申請國外大學 學生英文自薦信標題怎麼寫
記住自薦信最重要的是於它與履歷表起著不同作用，許多履歷表中的具體內容不應在自薦信中重復。例如，工作經歷，學歷或是個人目標。履歷表告訴別人有關你個人，你的經歷和你的技能。而自薦信告訴別人你能為僱傭者做些什麼。
一份自薦信應做到以下三點：
1． 自我介紹和寫自薦信的理由
信的首段要抓住招聘經理的注意力。說明你為何寄履歷表：你對公司有興趣並想擔任他們空缺的職位。可以通過暗示你與公司雇員的親屬關系來表達你對公司的興趣。要說明你乾的是同一行業，有著同樣的工作興趣，或者你一直通過新聞了解公司或者這個行業。
如果你由一位朋友或著同事介紹給公司，就在信中提起他們；因為招聘經理會感到有責任回復你的信（但是不要誇大其實，如果你對公司或者這行業敘述不正確，招聘者會一眼就看穿的。）當你要求擔任公司空缺時，要說得越具體越好。不要只說起工作職位，還應談談這個職位的要求。
2． 自我推薦
信的第二部分要簡短地敘述自己的才能，特別是這些才能將滿足公司的需要。沒有必要具體陳述，因為履歷表將負責這些。
這部分你應強調你的才能和經驗將會有益於公司的發展。不要在信中表示你會因聘用而收益多少，面對桌上一大堆履歷表和許多空缺職位，招聘經理關心的不會是你的個人的成就。盡可能地少用人稱代詞"我"，要讓人感到你想表達的是"我怎樣才能幫你。"
3．制訂計劃 信的結尾要表明你的下一步計劃。不要讓招聘者來決定，要自己採取行動。告訴招聘者怎樣才能與你聯絡，打電話或者發email，但不要坐等電話。要表明如果幾天內等不到他們的電話，你會自己打電話確認招聘者已收到履歷表和自薦信並安排面試。語氣肯定但要禮貌。（一些應聘者會用一段話來解釋履歷表中不清楚的地方，比如就業經歷中沒有工作的階段） 自薦信的格式沒有正式的格式，但在寫信時要記住一些基本的規則。
1.信的右上角或者左上角要留出三行，包括家庭地址，國家，城市，郵政編碼和日期。
2.左對齊的下三行是寫在日期的下面，稱呼的上面。這塊地方寫的是詳細地址，包括國家，城市和郵政編碼。
3.稱呼的後面要用冒號而不要用逗號，寫稱呼時要用正式的語氣。"親愛的Harper小姐"而不要"親愛的Jennifer"。
