写英文求职信，最重要的是你要熟悉求职信和英国人或者美国人的写信思路，不要将中文版的翻译成英语，那样会让人觉得你的英语还不怎么地道，从而失去竞争力。那么，怎样的英文求职信会紧紧抓住面试官的眼球呢？这里面是有很多学问的，一共有七点。
第一，有的放矢。不要把英文求职信写成一种能到处撒网的求职信，然后大量复制，到处投递。这种不管三七二十一的狂轰滥炸，很少能击中目标。有效的求职信都具有很强的针对性，或针对公司的某一具体职位
第二，设置两个左右的兴趣点。用英语写出你自己关键的经历、最好的成绩、重要的特长以及自己的愿望、心情和信心等。表明你所特有的教育、技能、个性特征和将会为招聘单位做出的特殊贡献等。
第三，特长词句加黑加粗。在英文求职信的格式上，对需要特别强调的词语用另外一种字体打出。例如，“主要特长”用加黑、加粗的字体显示，便于浏览。对特别的段落，采取两端各缩进两字的方法处理，更能吸引招聘者的目光。
