自荐信的重点在于“荐“，在构思上一定要围绕“为何荐“，“凭何荐“、“怎么荐“的思路安排，其格式一般分为标题、称呼、正文、附件和落款五部分。
1、标题 标题是自荐信的标志和称谓，要求醒目、简洁、庄雅。要用较大字体在用纸上方标注“自荐信“三个字，显得大方、美观。
2、称呼 这是对主送单位或收件人的呼语。如用人单位明确，可直接写上单位名称，前以“尊敬的”加以修饰，后以领导职务或统称“领导“落笔，如单位不明确，则用统称“尊敬的贵单位（公司或学校）领导“领起，最好不要直接冠以最高领导职务，这样容易引起第一读者的反感，反而难达目的。
3、正文 正文是自荐信的核心，开语应表示向对方的问候致意。主体部分一般包括简介、自荐目的、条件展示、愿望决心和结语五项内容。
简介是自我概要的说明，包括自荐人姓名、性别、民族、年龄、籍贯、政治面貌、文化程度、校系专业、家庭住址、任职情况等要素，要针对自自荐目的作简单说明，无须冗长繁琐。
自荐目的要写清信息来源，求职意向、承担工作目标等项目，要写得明确具体、但要把握分寸、简明扼要，既不能要求过高又不能模棱两可，给人以自负或自卑的不良印象。

求职信的好坏会很大程度地影响求职推荐表的作用。一份好的求职信能为你赢得一个面试机会，但一份不好的求职信则会使求职推荐表形同虚设。
一、求职信的内容
求职信最重要的在于它与简历表起着不同作用，许多简历表中的具体内容不应在求职信中重复。简历表告诉别人的是有关你个人基本信息、学习工作经历和你的专业技能。而求职信告诉别人的是“为什么你是这份工作的最佳人选。”
一封求职信应做到以下三点：
1、 自我介绍和写求职信的理由
信的首段要着力抓住招聘主管的注意力，要用一两句新意的话去吸引读者。自我介绍要简单，用一两句话概括就可以了。写求职信的理由，要说明你学的专业对口，有着同样的工作兴趣，或者你一直在关注贵单位的发展，经常通过新闻媒体了解贵单位或者这个行业。
2、 自我推荐
信的第二部分要简短地叙述自己的才能和特长，特别是这些才能将能满足用人单位的需要。但没有必要具体陈述，因为简历表将负责这些。同时还应该谈谈这个职位的工作要求。
这部分你应强调你的才能和经验将会有益于用人单位的发展。要让人感到你想表达的是“我如何发挥自己的才能，为单位的发展作出贡献”。不要在信中提及你会因聘用而工资、待遇如何。
3、制定计划
信的结尾要表明你的下一步计划。不要让招聘者来决定，要自己采取行动。告诉招聘者怎样才能与你联络，打电话或者发E-mail，但不要坐等电话。要表明如果几天内等不到贵单位的电话，我会自己打电话确认招聘者已收到求职表和安排面试情况，语气肯定但要有礼貌。
二、求职信的格式
没有正式的格式，但在写信时要记住一些基本的规则（与普通信的格式基本相同）。
称呼的后面要用冒号而不要用逗号，写称呼时要用正式的语气。要用具体的称呼（例如不要写“给有关负责人”）。要设法知道谁将收到你的信。如果有必要，可打电话询问用人单位。如果你还是不能确定领导的名字或具体称呼，就称呼“尊敬的招聘经理”、“尊敬的人事部经理”，或者就称“尊敬的领导”。

2 特征总结
从上面两封信可看出，求职信主要包括下列部分：
1） 开篇：表明写信人所申请的职位以及从何处得知此职位空缺；
2） 资格：所受何种教育，获得何种学位；
3） 业绩：从事过何种工作，目前何处就职，工作能力如何，有哪些成绩等；
4） 附件：说明附件的数量及内容；
5） 结尾：提出面试请求，准确提供便捷的联系方式。
除此之外，看求职信的人还可能关注求职者的年龄、性格（主要是与人合作、沟通的能力）、工作习惯和奋斗目标，求职者可视情况提供。
